We work on a wide variety of commercial and residential properties performing a range of functions for our clients. We have included above some images of our past work, in addition we have described below some of the work we have undertaken in the last few years.
Commercial Surveys: We recently undertook a portfolio building acquisition survey of commercial buildings for a confidential client. Properties included industrial, office, and educational facilities located across the UK. The instruction involved advising on immediate and longer-term maintenance requirements and providing budget costs for the repair of dilapidations.
Party Wall: We provided Party Wall advice for a commercial development being undertaken by Safestore involving the excavation of a two-storey basement in an outer London location. Adjoining owners included the local authority, a car dealership and an energy provider.
Licences: For the extension of a Waitrose store in the east of England we negotiated access licences for the demolition of a warehouse building and a number of other remedial works and safety installations during the project. This involved engagement with the client, design team and contractor along with negotiation with neighbours some of whom were large national organisation.
Listed Buildings: We designed internal alteration works at a ZiZi restaurant in the south of England. The building was originally constructed in the 13th century and was grade II* listed having previously been used as a house and a hospital. In this role we designed an alteration scheme and sought legislative permission for the works including submitting a design and access statement to the local authority.
CDM Advice: We have provided extensive CDM Advisory services to the John Lewis Partnership including acting (under the old CDM regulations) as the CDMC on the conversion of a former public house into a new “little Waitrose” store located in Muswell Hill. In this project, we also acted as the Party Wall surveyors and as Party Wall consultants during the design stage.
Structural Appraisal: For a confidential client, we provided structural and dilapidations appraisal of a heavily dilapidated Victorian factory building for a commercial client wishing to understand the repairing, refurbishment or demolition options available to them.
Commercial Design and Project Management: We recently provided project management services for of an over roofing project for Safestore properties at one of their storage facilities in Manchester. The project involved providing safe access to a cement sheet roof and overseeing the insulation and oversheeting of the roof in a modern profiled metal sheeting system.
Residential Design: For a private client we undertook the specification and design of a residential extension in the midlands. The project had a number of unique challenges because the building was located at the base of a large hill. Challenges included needing to provide accommodation at split levels and needing to retain a steep bank to the rear of the property.
